NCMA Area Horse Shows
Members of North Central organize and hold several shows in the NCMA
districts each year. Some of these are done as NCMA District functions,
and others are done by other organizations. Here is some information
about those shows:

Kandi Klassic Morgan & Open Show Fall Benefit 2005
This Fall show is a benefit,
with profits going to promote equine activity in the North Central area. The show was
held Saturday & Sunday, September 17 & 18, 2005 at the Stearns County Fairgrounds in
Sauk Center, MN. Judges were Jennifer Brandl for Dressage and Linda Hagan Kvanbeck for Pleasure classes.
The weather was generally good this year; threatening rain kept us inside
Saturday morning, but then we were able to move to the outside ring. We
had about 60 horses & riders at the show.

The 2005 spring show was held
Saturday & Sunday, May 28 & 29, 2005 at the Stearns County Fairgrounds in Sauk Center,
MN.
The weather was generally good this year (unlike some years), and 104 horses & riders
were present to enjoy it.
Judges Vernee Barnett of Carson City, NV for Pleasure classes,
Nancy Porter of Stillwater for Senior Dressage classes, and Jane Linville
of Belle Plain for Junior Dressage classes did a fine job, with some good sized classes.

This Fall show is a benefit,

held Saturday & Sunday, September 18 & 19, 2004 at the Stearns County Fairgrounds in
Sauk Center, MN. Judges were Jennifer Brandl for Dressage and Lyle Wick for Pleasure classes.

The 2004 Fall Kandi Klassic was blessed with perfect horse show weather. Sixty-seven
horses and their owners showed up to have a great weekend at the show. The profits from
this show will be donated to NCMA as they have been the last two years.
Judge Jennifer Brandl did an excellent job with the Intro through First level dressage
classes, plus the Percentage class, all held in the grass dressage ring. She also
judged the Sport Horse In-Hand class. Champion Dressage Horse was Poco's Dakota King, a
Training Level horse, owned by Amy Sand. Reserve Champion Dressage Horse was Liviette,
a First Level horse, owned by Celia Carr.
The Morgan, Icelandic, and Open judging was competently handled by Lyle Wick. Hunter
and Western classes were well filled, and beautiful to watch. Classic classes were also
popular. English Pleasure and Driving classes were smaller in numbers, but high in
quality, along with In-Hand and Ranch Horse.
The Surprise Fun class was well attended, and everyone had a great time with the Dixie
Challenge. Judge Lyle had to work hard to weed out riders, until we were down to our
winner.
The Icelandic division was also down in number this year, but they made up for it in
the fun that they had! We even had Icelandics entered in Ranch Horse, and Trail along
with the Morgans.
Our Championship classes were well filled. The English Pleasure Champion was Priority
Mail, owned by Jessica Adams, with Envisions Royal Touch owned by T-Time Enterprises in
Reserve. The Western Pleasure Champion was Summit's Socialite, owned by Charles and
Arlene Berzins. Reserve Champion was Jen Don Star Attraction, owned by Paul and Susan
Motter. The Hunter Pleasure Champion was Aerie Meadow Chloe, owned by William Dodds and
Ironstone Snapshot, owned by the Ironstone Farm, was Reserve Champion.

Kandi Klassic Morgan & Open Show Spring 2004
The 2004 spring show was held
Saturday & Sunday, May 29 & 30, 2004 at the Stearns County Fairgrounds in Sauk Center,
MN. Despite the rainy weather, there were plenty of horses (105) and classes went well.
The Dressage Clinic by Tom Poulin held on Friday, May 28th (the day before the show) was
completely filled, and the participants seemed to enjoy their sessions.
That rain and mud did not deter our riders, we're pretty used to it. We just moved into
the indoor ring for the rail classes. The dressage classes were held outside on
Saturday, mostly without rain, though they had to contend with wet ground from previous
rains, but Judge Tom Poulin, and Jennifer Brandl on Intro-level tests, handled it well.
More rain came on Sunday, sometimes quite heavy, so Judge Art Perry had rail class
riders had to warmup for a few minutes inside the show ring before judging started. The
weather finally cleared up just about the time of the last class on Sunday, and stayed
beautiful for the trip home and the Memorial Day Holiday.

F.A.S.H. Spring Horse Show
This show is sponsored by Friends of the Saddlebred Horse, and has classes
for Morgans, Saddlebreds and Hackney ponies. May 7th-9th, 2004 at Mn State Fairgrounds.

Kandi Klassic Fall Benefit Show
The First Kandi Klassic Fall Benefit show was held on Saturday & Sunday, Sep 21 & 22,
2002 at the Stearns County Fairgrounds in Sauk Center, MN. Attendance was great --
nearly 100 horses in our first year! Profits from the show will go to North Central
Morgan Assn, for use in doing promotion of Morgan Horses in the area.
Judges were Kate Phillips for Dressage & Sport Horse In Hand classes,
with Vee Ann Wood & Linda Hagan Kvanbeck sharing the judging of all the other classes.

Kandi Klassic Morgan & Open Show 2002
The 2002 show was held on Saturday & Sunday, May 25 & 26, 2002 at
the Stearns County Fairgrounds in Sauk Center, MN. Attendance was nearly 50% higher
than in 2001 (nearly 150 horses) and there was no rain during the show!
Judges were Nancy Porter for Dressage, Dressage Driving, & Sport Horse In Hand classes,
and Mary Ann Morrison of Oregon for all the other classes.

Kandi Klassic Morgan & Open Show 2001
This show was held on Saturday & Sunday, May 26 & 27, 2001 at
the Stearns County Fairgrounds in Sauk Center, MN. (Moved to a new location
for 2001 due to lack of stabling at Willmar.)
Judges were Mary Spath for Dressage Classes, and Belle Hufferd for all
the other classes.
