Results for the 2005 Minneapolis DFL 12th Ward Convention
The Mpls DFL 3rd Ward City Council Convention, was held on
Saturday April 23rd, 2005, and proceeded as follows:
The 12th Ward convened at 10:00AM
Earl Netwal Convened
Proposed rules were amended to permit outside speakers only after 1st
ballot for endorsement was cast, then adopted as amended.
Scott Benson and Carol Flynn were elected convention chairs.
Kevin McDonald and Sandy Colvin Roy were nominated for City Council Ward 12.
Both addressed convention for 10 minutes. Kevin perhaps a bit more.
A 30 minute Q&A period was held.
Paper ballot vote was distributed, collected and counted.
Ballot results:
177 votes were cast; 107 were required to endorse by 60%.
Sandy Colvin Roy 145 votes, 82%
Kevin McDonald 32 votes, 18%
Sandy Colvin Roy was endorsed on the first ballot with 82% of the vote.
Speaker parade began with 1 minute speeches.
Interspersed with election of committee, commission and coordinator elections.

A total of 25 candidates for various offices addressed the body.
