For the three of you out there that don't already know, when a family of elephants walking down a trail come across the bones of another elephant, these traveling elephants will stop to investigate these bones. Picking up the remnants of the long dead elephant, this family will taste and smell these bones, passing them around to each other. No one knows what they are thinking when this event occurs; no one is quite sure why they do it.

"The Next Generation" is a hypothetical look into a future where elephants out last the human race (very hypothetical). Here the elephants can continue what they were doing before we interrupted them. The bottom portion of this split etching illustrates our buried, long extinct species. To show that this buried section was our contemporary civilization, I've put a set of braces on the teeth on the human skull on the right.
