The three on the bed are Thomas, closest
to the camera, Jenny, and Buttercup.  This was the
closest these three ever got, still a careful distance
between.

Note from Karl - without permission, though in context I hope she wouldn't mind, I include the following from "Rhymes with Orange".

(By the way, "Rhymes with Orange" often has really wonderful cat cartoons, among other things - I read it online from the San Jose Mercury-News (www.mercurycenter.com), and she's contributed at least half a dozen to our refrigerator),

Buttercup had not only the thumbs, but an extra toe between them and the paw,
with a claw on each

A subseqent note:

Ah, um, I just have to add that we no longer have the hideous hand-me-down
flowered couch, and the  rocker pads are now covered in a tasteful faux-suede.
