Lighting Photography By Douglas Kiesling

Welcome to the home away from my home page for some of my new work and some of my older work.

This space to host these photos was provided by my friend Jim Turner. Please take a moment to check out his web page. He has a huge collection of some real cool antique Jim Beam Bottles for sale.

There are two collections on this page. The first collection is the good photos from the March 1998 Storm that hit St Peter Minnesota. These photos were taken around Southern Minnesota in the Rice County Area.

Now here is the contest. I was so lost following the storm that I really don't know where I ended up but it was around the Northfield area. The first person to give me the name and address of the person that owns the house in the first picture will win a 11 X 14 print of this picture.

Who's House Is This?

Now here are the rest of the good ones from the storm. I still have some 120 format that I had a problem getting scanned to c.d. that are still to come when ever I get the cash to interneg them and the time to pick them up.

All of the following Lightning photography was taken at the Mall Of America West Parking Ramp over looking the City of Bloomington and Richfield on the 494 strip.

If you look close you can see the Water Tower off of Penn Avenue and 494 in Richfield.

Hooked In
Hard Core Lightning. This photo shows three major bolts of Lightning with one large bolt that comes down and back up into the main bolt of lightning.
Twister.
In this photo there is a bolt of lightning that looks like it's hitting the corner of the Firstar Bank Building and a double bolt of lightning twisting together.
Spiked.
Here is the clasic lightning bolt coming down over the 494 and Penn Avenue Area.
Going Up? Or Going Down.
This is a strange bolt of lightning the looks like it wanted to go back up in the sky.
Another Fork In The Sky
This multi strike shows several bolts of lightning coming down with one forking off into two hits from one main strike.
