Setting Up Outlook Express for Multiple Email Accounts @ SCC - Win95 or Win98

Before you begin

• You should read through these instructions thoroughly and print out a copy before you continue.
• This installation procedure assumes that you have Outlook Express Email.
  
• Always read through the programs instructions and documentation before beginning setup or calling for technical support.

Launch Outlook Express Directly - or - Open Internet Explorer, click the Mail Button, then Read Mail

This will show you how to set up multiple email accounts using Outlook Express.

• Launch Outlook Express
• From the Tools menu, select Accounts
  
• Click on Add and select Mail

  
  

• Fill in the appropriate information

  

• Fill in your Name and click Next
  
• Enter your email address and click Next
  
• Enter pop3.scc.net and smtp.scc.net and click Next
  
• Enter your login name (always in all lower case), then your password and click Next
  
• Enter a name for the email profile (anything) and click Next
  
• Choose how you connect - and click Next
  
• Choose your Dialup Networking connection you use to access the internet and click Next
  
• Click Finished

  Sending and Checking Email

• To Send: From the Toolbar, select Compose Message
• To Check mail: From the Toolbar, select Send and Receive

  Troubleshooting Problems

• Is my mail account name all lower case?
• Do I have a message in your Outbox addressed to a bogus email address? If so, get rid of it and you will be able to send mail again.
• Is my password typed correctly?
• Have I double-checked my server name and configuration for typos?
• Did I pay my internet service provider?
