Setting Up Multiple Identities in Outlook Express 5.0 For Win95 or Win98

Before you begin

• You should read through these instructions thoroughly and print out a copy before you continue.
• This installation procedure assumes that you have Outlook Express Email.
• Always read through the programs instructions and documentation before beginning setup or calling for technical support.

Launch Outlook Express. This setup assumes that you have already configured one email account under Outlook Express.

• Choose File>, Identities>, then Add New Identity>
  

• You will be prompted to type in your name as you want it to appear.
  
  
• You will then be in the 'Manage Identities' box, which lists all of the Identities that you have setup. You can 'Close' this.
• Go back to File>, and choose Switch Identity>.
  

• Choose the Identity that you just created.
  
  
• You will now walk through the Internet Setup Wizard and enter in mailservers. Refer to http://www.scc.net/techsupport/win95/outlook/index.html if you need help with these configurations.
  

  Troubleshooting Problems

• Is my mail account name all lower case?
• Do I have a message in your Outbox addressed to a bogus email address? If so, get rid of it and you will be able to send mail again.
• Is my password typed correctly?
• Have I double-checked my server name and configuration for typos?
• Did I pay my internet service provider?
