Setting Up Outlook Email For Win95/WinNT

Before you begin

• You should read through these instructions thoroughly and print out a copy before you continue.
• This installation procedure assumes that you have the full version of Outlook that comes with Office 97.
• Always read through the programs instructions and documentation before beginning setup or calling for technical support.

Launch Outlook

If this is your first time running Outlook, a box will appear asking you for which type of email settings to choose. Select Internet Settings and click OK.

• Internet Mail type: pop3
• Pop3 Server: pop3.scc.net
• SMTP server: smtp.scc.net
• Account Name: yourlogin (ie: jdoe) - all lower case
• Password: your account password
• Finished!

  If the First Time box does not appear after launching Outlook, follow these steps.

  Launch Outlook

  From the Tools menu, select Services

  Click on Internet Mail and select Properties

  

  Fill in the appropriate information

  

  Sending and Checking Email

  To Send: From the Compose menu, select New Message

  To Check mail: From the Tools menu, select Check for New Mail
