Configuring Netscape Communicator for Email at SCC.Net
These following images will guide you through setting up Netscape Communicator for sending and
receiving email through Sound Internet.
Open the Netscape Messenger icon from your Communicator directory. The following images
will step you through setting up the program for email and news.
If first running, these are the steps it will take you through. For mail and news only, move
down to the fourth image.
For setting up mail and news, follow these steps.
From the Edit menu, select Preferences. Click on Mail and Groups -
Identity and fill in the following:
Click on Mail Servers and fill in the Outgoing mail server and username.
Then click on "Add" for incoming mail servers, select POP3 instead of IMAP server and
fill in the incoming mail server name.
Click on Newsgroups Server and click on "Add", and fill in the news server
name
Click on OK and you should be configured!
To check mail, from the File menu, select Get Messages - New, or click the
Get Msg button.
