
1) Click on the Trumpet Winsock icon in Windows 3.1
(If it starts to dial, press the ESC key to stop the dialing.)
2) Select DIALER from the menu bar.
3) Select EDIT SCRIPTS from inside the DIALER pulldown menu.
4) Choose LOGIN.CMD and select OK.
- This brings up the login script in the notepad editor -
5) Click on SEARCH from the menu bar.
6) Click on FIND from the SEARCH pulldown menu.
7) Type in the word "rod" and press enter.
- This will hilite the first occurence of the word "Prod" and help you to
locate the next few lines we need to change
***NOTE: If the computer does not find anything with this search
criteria, your software is already updated and you don't need to
worry about this procedure.
8) Select CANCEL to stop searching and close the search window.
9) Arrow down to the next couple of lines that have "OUTPUT \13".
10) Comment out these lines by putting a # sign (shift-3) at the beginning.
(This will disable the line from being read by the dialer)
11) You may now save your changes and exit the notepad editor.
-to do this, click FILE, and select SAVE, next click FILE, and EXIT.
1) Within the Trumpet Winsock application, click on FILE
2) Click on SETUP within the File pulldown menu
and you will see a screen like this:

3) Make sure you have the "Internal PPP" box checked!
(This check box is marked with a red circle in the picture above)
4) Click on OK
- A popup box will appear telling you to restart Trumpet Winsock
if you made any changes to the setup (click OK to close this window)
5) Choose FILE and EXIT to close Trumpet Winsock
6) The next time you start Trumpet Winsock, your login should be
much smoother.
