First-time Configuration
This is for setting your machine up with Sound Internet for the first time or re-installing from scratch.CD-ROM Startup Kit:
- Windows 3.1x CD-ROM installation - If you are configuring the Sound Internet Startup Kit for the first time.
- Windows 3.1x Dialup Access - If you are configuring your Windows 3.1x computer to dial up to Sound Internet.
- Configuring Windows 3.1x Applications - If you need information on how to configure various Internet-based applications on your Windows 3.1x machine (ie. eMail, News, IRC, WWW).
Troubleshooting/Fixing Problems
These pages will assist you in finding solutions to problems you may experience with your service.

- DNS Problems with Windows 3.1x - If you are able to connect to Sound Internet but are unable to use most/any services (ie. eMail, World Wide Web, IRC) your Domain Name Service (DNS) settings may be incorrect. This will explain how to check for yourself.
- Phone Problems with Windows 3.1x - If you are unable to connect to Sound Internet but you hear your modem dial the number, you may have the wrong phone number in your configuration. Here's how to fix it.
- Connection and Disconnection Problems - If you are having problems getting good connection speeds, or getting disconnected.
- Terminal Server Scripting Problems with Windows 3.1x - If your account works perfectly fine sometimes but doesn't allow you to connect other times you may need to make a modification to your PPP Login Script. This is how you check you setup and make the change if necessary.
