Uploading your web page with Microsoft Frontpage

After you have created your web page, you will then put it on-line in your WWW directory. Please note that if you have a domain name, all instances of "scc.net" should be replaced with your domain name. The Sound Internet staff can tell what your WWW directory is called.
• Connect to the Internet
• Open your web site on your computer with FrontPage
• Click on "Publish" on the toolbar
• Enter the URL of where your page will be located. Your URL should be http://www.scc.net/~username/filename.ext where the username is your login name for your account, filename is the name for your page, and ext is the .htm or .html extension for your web page. If this is your first page, you should name it index.htm or index.html. All images should be saved with a .gif or .jpg extension. Click OK.
  NOTE: If you are uploading to your own domain use www.yourdomain.com instead of scc.net as shown below. example: instead of useing http://www.scc.net/~username/ you would use http://www.domain.com/
  
• In the User Name box, type your login name. In the Password box, type your password. Click OK
  
• If you are asked to select a protocol, choose FTP and then click Next
  
• In the prompt for your FTP server, type ftp.scc.net
• When prompted for the folder for your web content, type in /home/username/WWW where username is your login name for your account. If you have more than one directory in your WWW folder, you may want to type /home/username/WWW/path where path is a subdirectory relative to your WWW folder
  
• Click Next until you Finish
• After you click on finish, your web page should successfully upload and be viewable through your web browser

• Connect to the Internet
• Open your web site on your computer with FrontPage
• Click on "Publish" on the toolbar, or under File>
  
• Enter where you will be publishing your webpage to as 'ftp://www.scc.net/WWW', and click on 'Publish'
  
  
• Enter your username and password when prompted, and hit OK
  
  
• After everything has uploaded, you can view your webpage by opening your browser to 'http://www.scc.net/~username/' or 'http://www.yourdomainname.com'

• Connect to the Internet
• Open your web site on your computer with FrontPage
• Click on "Publish" on the toolbar
• FrontPage should remember your publishing information if you have successfully published your previous page. You may have to re-enter your username and password.
