This page provides the information needed in order to properly send file
attachments via email using the Eudora email program. If you are having
trouble reading attachments, follow these steps and you should have no
problem.
Sending Email Attachments Using
Eudora
If you have experienced problems with sending
attachments, changing the format settings for sending the files will
most likely solve the problem. Follow these steps for the solution.
Address the new message to the recipient you are sending the attached
file to.
Write your email message as you normally would.
From the Message menu, select Attach Document
(Ctrl-H)
Locate the document you want to send from your local hard drive
(C:/MyDocuments/foryou.doc)
If you are sending the document from a PC to another PC (Windows to
Windows), make sure you send it in MIME format, as opposed
toBinHEX. A POP-Up screen in the Eudora window (to the right
of Signature), will read either BinHEX or
MIME, you can change it each time you send an attachment. If
you want to make it always send attachements via MIME
format, from the Special menu, select Switches. Under the
Send Attachments switch, click the button next to MIME and
cick OK to save.
Mac Users
Macintosh users need to have file attachments sent via BinHEX in
order to make it readable by MacOS. If you are sending any attachments
from either a Mac to Mac, or PC to Mac, you'll need to send the attachment
in BinHEX format. If you are on a Mac sending the attachment to a
PC or any OS -operating system- other than MacOS, you'll need to
send it via MIME.
