OS 8 Instructions for Internet Connection Kit


MacOS 8 Instructions:
Macintosh OS 8 includes most Internet applications our members would like to use.
Running the Sound Choice Internet CDRom is unnecessary, and not recommended. The following
instructions should help you through the Macintosh supplied setup wizard.

· Located the folder titled "Assistants" from your Hard Drive folder.

· Select the Internet Setup Assistant.

· You should see the option to Register or Update, Select the UPDATE option.
	Next
· Add Internet configuration,
	Select a name for this configuration: SOUND INTERNET

· How do you connect to Internet,  Choose MODEM, 
	Select the modem installed in your computer.
	Select the Port your modem is connected to, usually the MODEM port.
	Choose tone or pulse dial,		Choose TONE. 

· Enter the phone number to dial:	651 556 6556 
(If you are calling from an office where you must dial 9 for an outside
line type 9,651 556-6556 in the
box.) 

· Enter the name you use:
			username  (this is the name you choose when you set up your
					account - it is always entered in ALL lower case )
· Enter the password for this account:
			PaSSwoRd (this is CaSe sEnSiTive) 

· You may have been assigned your own IP address:
			Always Choose "NO" 

· DNS Server IP address:
			199.199.195.5 
· Domain Name:		scc.net 

· What is your e-mail address for this configuration:
			username@scc.net  

· What is your e-mail host for this configuration:
			smtp.scc.net 

· What is your News Group Host for this configuration:
			news.scc.net 

· Your Configuration is Complete.
