Here are some quick references for configuring your DSL connection. Call 651-556-9600 for further assistance.

DSL Quick Reference

  • PPP, Routed or Bridging mode? Internal modems will always be in Bridged mode; External modems could be configured in either Bridged or Routed mode
  • Static or Dynamic IP Addresses? IP addresses are static
  • What is my IP address? IP address is assigned to you by Sound Internet - it is 209.32.xxx.xxx
  • What is my subnet mask? Subnet is assigned to you by Sound Internet - it is 255.255.255.xxx
  • What is my gateway? Gateway is assigned to you by Sound Internet - it is 209.32.xxx.xxx
  • What is my host name? Your username.
  • What is my domain? The domain is "scc.net"
  • What is DNS Service Search Order? 199.199.195.5
  • What is Domain Suffix Search Order? "scc.net"
  • What are Primary and Secondary WINS Addreses? You will disable WINS resolution.
  • What is the Incoming Mail Server? pop3.scc.net
  • What is the Outgoing Mail Server? smtp.scc.net
  • What is the News Server? news.scc.net
  • My computer is restarted and the program says my line is trained,
    why isn't my DSL working when the program says it is?
    You need to click the "Connect" button after you restart the computer. (Select Plan Only)
  • Why does my regular modem keep dialing when I open Internet Explorer?
    You should disable automatic dialing on your analog modem. You can do this by going to your Internet control panel, and configuring your connection to be on a LAN setting.
